Are you ever craving ice cream but don't want to buy the processed, refined-sugar filled ones at the store? Are you dairy-free or vegan and are looking for a healthy dessert alternative? This banana soft serve ice cream is the perfect simple recipe for you!

When bananas are frozen they create a smooth, thick ice cream when blended that makes it perfect for a frozen treat! You can have it plain, add chocolate, peanut butter, protein powder, or any other ingredient of your choice. A food processor or high-speed blender is most ideal to blend, but any blender will work although it may just take a little bit longer. If you also are having troubles blending, add a splash of dairy-free milk to help move things along. This treat is one of our GO-TO's during the warmer summer months when craving a cool dessert but we don't want to spend money on store-bought ice creams. We definitely recommend trying this out and making some extra for your friends and family to enjoy!

Chocolate Banana Ice Cream (1 large or 2 small servings)

Ingredients:

-3 bananas (chopped and frozen)

-1 tbsp cocoa powder

-1 tsp maple syrup (or other liquid sweetner)

-Dairy-free chocolate chips and walnuts (optional topping)

Directions:

1. Place the frozen bananas into a food processor or high-speed blender.

2. Blend the bananas on high speed for 2-3 minutes, stopping halfway through to push down the sides with a spoon.

3. Once the bananas are completely blended and a smooth soft-serve consistency, add the cocoa powder and maple syrup.

4. Blend for 10-20 seconds until it is all combined into chocolatey ice cream goodness.

5. For a softer consistency, serve immediately with any toppings of your choice. If you would like an actual thicker ice cream consistency, place it in a container in the freezer for 2-3 hours. ENJOY :)
